This has been covered a gazillion times, do a search. The bottom line is that it's cheaper/easier to buy another Fiero and sell yours if nec..

If you have all the parts it only requires some labor. You need the tranny, it's mounts, axles, shifter cables, and shifter mechanism, with new console surround, shifter, and knob, don't forget the master and slave cylinders for the clutch and the clutch line. You will also need a clutch pedal and probably a new flywheel, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. Then you need to drop out the old tranny and swap out the parts. Someone with ambition could probably turn it around in a weekend. There also is some wiring involved if I remember correctly.
I have not done this myself and Im just listing what is involved.

just get ready to create new curse words while swapping the pedal assembly. GM should have their ass removed that that one! Its not easy but is pretty straight forward. I wouldnt consider this w/o the donor car setting beside you when you start.

Swaping pedals is easy. You cut off the studs and drill the old stud tops out to 8.5 mm and then just use 8 mm bolts and nuts to reinstall. Easy as pie.
