turbo from a 2.3 Ford. Expecting to run approx 10lbs boost. Anyone got an estimate of how much HP gains I can expect? All comments and questions welcome. Thanks guyz.

that stock 2.8 wont last too much longer with 10lbs of boost on it, most run around 5-6lbs of boost on a stock engine and get about 190-200hp

I tend to agree that 10 psi of boost may be a bit extreme for the stock engine, especially on a used engine. A rough rule of thumb is that a turbocharger with 6-7 psi of boost will add 35 to 45% more horsepower to what you already have. In theory with enough boost you could make far more power but the higher the boost the lower the reliability.
That's about what I want.....200 or so HP. How much would 10lbs of boost give me?

Phil, I do know a bit about turbos. If you need some help designing a system or picking components give me a call. Also, Dennis REALLY knows his stuff. Print everything he says....

Thanks Bud! I appreciate it! You should be able to see 185hp - 190hp going no higher than 10psi. Pushing the motor any further than that as far as boost goes, I would highly recommend a full prep with Forged Pistons, ringed heads, and such.
If you are planning to use a rising rate fuel pressure regulator to increase the fueling rate, I would go no higher than 7-8 psi boost. That's about where they lose efficiency.

Yeah, I expect that I'll just boost this to about 6 or 7. I can learn on this one. Then I can do an engine swap and put a turbo on that.........LOL.....thanks guyz
