Does anyone make an adapter plate to change the bolt pattern on a Fiero to that of an S-10, or know of another way to do it? I have a set of old Indy Mags that my brother had on his S-10 that I think would look good on a Fiero.

Thnx

Just mail them to me.. I have a Sonoma in need of a good looking set of wheels!

I know that some people have had rotors redrilled to use Firebird brakes. It is not a small task. Never heard of adaptors.

Sure, let me just find an envelope to send them in.

BubbJoe's site http://members.fortunecity.com/bubbajoexx/id205.htm has a rear brake upgrade using Pontiac 6000 front knuckles and S-10 4WD front wheel bearings and rotor. It doesn't show much detail, and it doesn't say what calipers to use, but it would give you the 5x4-3/4" bolt pattern on the rear. As far as the front goes, I guess you would have to use an adapter or have something made.

AWESOME! WOW! The 5x115 swap is old hat. I've had that on my car for a year now, but I had no idea that there was a 5x4 3/4" bearing that fits that hub carrier! That's AWESOME news! I'm definitely going to be looking into that tomorrow!

If the S10 the wheels came off is a two wheel drive wouldn't there be WAY too much negative offset to run those wheels on a Fiero? Seems to me like they would stick out a couple inches past the openings. Or is that what you want?

Bubba Joe half-asses it again...

I went into CarQuest today and looked at hub bearings. I looked at the '83-'90 S10 bearing w/o ABS, and the '90-'96(7?) w/ ABS.

There's a shoulder on the back of the mounting flange on both bearings that's slightly too large to fit into the A-body upright. If you look on this page: http://members.fortunecity.com/bubbajoexx/id205.htm and scroll down almost to the bottom, you'll see two pictures side by side labeled "upright and bearing". If you look carefully at the right picture, you'll see that there's about 1/4" gap between the mounting flange of the bearing and the upright. He just took a part that doesn't fit and used it anyway.

Also, the holes in the mounting flanges of the S10 bearings are threaded. They need to be drilled out before the bearing can be used with the A-body hub carrier.

I would never do this swap the way Bubba Joe did...
HOWEVER, with a little lathe work on back of the bearing to turn that shoulder down it could work...
