Well, I received my new, temporary engine today. Along with it I was given the bonus of two 'spare' transmissions. Both are manuals. I was told that 1 = 4-speed getrag and 1 = 5-speed getrag.

Anyway, how do I know what they are?!

Tranny #1

Tranny #2

Thanks in advance for the help.

cool....so how much could I get for them!? I have an auto and will not be swapping it out anytime soon. I need the garage space for the 250hp+ buildup.

Looks like Lyode http://www.geocities.com/fastfieros/ is selling them for $800 for a 74K tranny....these are suppose to be 60K trannies. :-)

Might have a tough time making someone believe that it has 60k on it due to the rust. Be nice to install it and see how it shifts, then it might be worth some $$$.

Nice grab though, hope they are fine

Two 5 speed Getrags recently sold on Ebay.. Neither said mileage I beleive.. One went for $400, the other for $3xx something I believe.. I just sold a 50k on rebuild one for $350... Just a starting point I guess.. They do sell on Ebay though, if it *is* a 60k tranny it would probably go for $400+.

Well, I have no desire to install either of these trannies at this time. I will end up sticking them in the forsale section here first, then ebay if they don't find a home. Shipping for the engine stuff wound up being WAY more than it was initially looked at....I talked them down to a bit more reasonable number, but I am looking to recover some of my costs. :-)

Thanks for the help guys.

I forgot to add that it looks like somebody sand / bead blasted those at one point.

I'd tear them apart and clean them out first if I was going to use them.

They were both power-washed...one was painted (#2) and the getrag was not (thus the rust problem).

When I do sell them, they will be "as-is".

I agree, sand/bead blast those pups after of course plugging the axle holes, vent, and dipstick hole, and you'll get bunches more for em.
