I found an 88 Grand Am with 6 cylinder and a 4 speed auto. It is running. Can I transfer this engine and trans into an 88 coupe without a big problem. I don't need it to have the fiero intake, I just want a 6 instead of a 4. Would it be best to use the 4 speed auto or the auto from the Fiero? Thanks for any help.

Adapt the engine wireing harness and ecm, exhaust system, tap new starter boltholes, and I don't know on the trans, I know I always wanted a four speed auto but couldn't find one at the right price.

also, the dogbone has to be relocated, and water plumbing has to be monkeyed out. the trans should be fine, in fact you should use it, being it'll match the ECM. your in for alot of work. as much as putting a 3.8 in (hint-hint).
