I am interested in going the SC 3800 engine swap way. This question goes out to all who performed this swap. How much of total expense did you have, from purchasing the kit to purchasing the engine and installing?....If you had West Coast Fiero do it, then how much did they charge?...IF you did it your self, is it VERY difficult for a weekend mechanic? Please let me know.

Well, I install the 3.8SC motors here in Dallas Texas.

Currently I have 2 engines for sale.
5k 98 motor for $2000 includes PCM
42K 98 motor for $1500 includes PCM

The install is as follows:

3.8SC manual transmission install in a manual car $6000 INCLUDES MOTOR and EXHAUST.

3.8SC Automatic transmission install in an Automatic Fiero $5500 INCLUDES MOTOR and EXHAUST.

Prices slightly higher for conversions for manuals to autos and autos to manuals.

I use poly mounts, stock exhaust manifolds, do the wiring conversion, basicly TURN KEY job.
