What is the best way to paint the interior of the fiero? Like, Panels, dash, plastic piece around the radio and speedo? I think for the carpet I will use Rit dye.

If painting vinyl and door trim black-use a satin black not gloss. Use vinyl paint-and repaint carefully until there is consistency. I also had success on PLASTIC panels/ use denatured alcohol then paint using again a satin black (negro matte) non-vinyl paint and let fully cure then go over with a clear non gloss laquer
or polyureathane. ALL carpets and headliner should be replaced and not painted.

but- for paint, i just bought some interior paint, used a paint gun and sprayed it on. I left the dash in, but took out center console, the pillars, and those things right on the indide of the door. You can either get the factory pontiac color for your year, or be like me and do something different!

but you have to make sure every little bit of armor all is off your pieces, if not you'll get pieces chipping off. Just wipe acetone on the dash and pieces, won't hurt anything. That way if you are taping off to do 2 colors, you won't rip paint off with tape.

The dash is a pain right where it meets the windshield, the spray gun won't reach, you have to use a brush, but it looks the same and blends in perfectly.

If going to use a spray paint that says enamel, for top coat you must use polyurethane. Lacquer will lift enamel paint.

Lisa, the fiero looks good...so do you...The Lacquer did not lift the paint I used but it usually does. I sold that GT anyway-Kept the good one.
