Spent one hour searching in the archives but couldn't find a good answer.
Basically my doors (bottom) hard plastic trim parts need a refresh. I'm talking about the interior one which is gray color(88 is dark gray yes?).
Does anyone knows which brand and PN for the right tone of gray? Also any PN for the prep? I have seen it in Corvettes catalogs but I'm almost sure those colors would be different. Help appreciated.
Thanks.

I went to a local autofinisher supply store and took a piece of plastic panel, that I wanted to match. That piece and knowing it was for a Fiero, they were able to match the paint. I use a small air brush paint sprayer to do the painting. I've been using the same can of paint for 3 or 4 years now. It seemed to be a rather pricy paint, the smallest they'd make was a pint. But it has lasted.

You can buy spray cans at K-Mart, etc. The brand is SEM.....the shade of gray used in '86-'88 Fieros is common enough for them to have......no need to have anything custom mixed (I do this to match the '88 tan stuff).

I believe the actual color name is medium dark gray, buy I'm not positive.

BTW......you will need to prep the plasic before you spray it. SEM also makes a plastic prep spray. If you don't prep it (gets off old grease, armor-all, etc) then the new color won't hold.

The SEM Light Grey is a perfect match for the 84/85 light grey interior parts.

I also used the Graphite Grey color to re-dye the speaker grills. They look great. Spray a small area from several directions then lightly brush it into the fabric with a Nylon brush (I used a tooth brush).

SEM can be reached at:
1(800)831-1122
SEM Products, Inc.
651 Michael Wylie Dr
Charlotte, NC 28217-1546

Call them, they are very helpful.

Good luck,

Carroll

Get the interior color codes from the bottom of the RPO label in the front of the car and go to any paint store and get "vinyl" paint (Dupont is what I get, but there are many) and a prep-cleaner (one is Prep-sol). Get a clear also. Clean the parts with the cleaner, apply just enough paint to color the part and shoot it with clear. If you apply too much you'll fill in the texture. Vinyl paint is very thin.

This way you can have the exact color, not fill in the texture and it will will look great. A pint of paint will paint everything.

Which codes on the RPO label are for the interior colors? I have tried searching the RPO codes listed in the Fiero Secrets but I can't find which codes are for the tan and brown colors on the interior of my 1984 SE. several of the codes on my label are not listed. At the bottom of the label is WA-85 55 is that what I am looking for?

Thanks,
Kevin
