I think it is pretty eaisy. You have to tear down the guage cluster. It sounds harder then it really is. It is outlined great in the haynes manual. You also must take off the radio/A/C/Heater control surround. There are 2 screws in each speaker hole, and one large screw under each side of the dash, under the side vents. Then just work it out, I have mine out in under an hour. The major thing is remove the guage cluster, heres how:
1. You should disconnect the neg. battery cable.
2. Take off the rear cluster cover by removing 2 Torx screws from the top. Take off the cover.
3. Remove the 4 Torx screws from both the headlight switch and trunk switch, unplug and remove them.
4. Remove the lower cover assemble (under the steering colum) by removing 4 (9/32" I think) torx screws and pull the cover off.
5. Remove the 2 big bolts on top the secure the the cluster assembly to the steering colum.
6. Remove the 2 bolt holding the cluster to the dash from the bottem.
7. Pull the cluster out slightly until you can get to the large connectors behind it and under it, remove them carefully and unclip them from the cluster.
8. Pull the cluster all the way, making sure you have removed all the connectors and be careful not to bash it on anything.
To install it, just read and do the oppisite of everthing I just said.
You will have to remove the radio surround too. It is fairly eaisy, just remove the trim plate and then the radio. Then remove the large metal plates around everthing. I left the plastic frame inplace when I removed the dash, just be sure to work the clips under the slot where the vents blow out, there are 2 plastic teeth the hook to the dash, you can just pull them out and lift the dash out, be careful not to break them. I also had to unbolt the A/C and heater controls, but left them hookup up and in place while I removed the dash.
Remove the 2 torx screws from each speaker well, and then the one under the each side air vent. It is easier then it sounds. But then again, its one of those things you wont want to do again for a very long time. Hope this helps.
