fiero56 and I just discovered the reason my '87 2.5 is idling rough, hesitating at speed, and noisier than normal ...

The two bolts that hold my EGR valve to the intake manifold are GONE! The EGR valve is just bouncing around back there and the gasket appears to be blocking the opening!

OK, so here's the deal. I'm leaving for INDY in about 12 hours and I need to get those bolts before the local stores close tonight at 9PM. Unfortunately, I'll be out and about most of the evening. So, I'm going to leave my pager's email address here. If anyone knows the size of the bolts (1987 2.5 4-banger), PLEASE PAGE ME WITH THE BOLT SIZE and I'll purchase them while I'm out tonight!

For future reference ...

According to the local Pontiac dealer, the bolt size is 8mm 1.25x25. However, since the openings go through the intake manifold (not just into it), I was able to purchase 8mm 1.25x30.

Awsome. Sounds like I bought the right bolts, but you already got some. Oh well, now you have extras. Don't forget to clear the codes so you'll know if you get any new ones.
