Im going to rebuild my 2.8 and have been looking at the stroker kits that are avalible for about $1200. Is it possible to buy a 3.1 crank and pistons separate where I can save some money or should I buy the kit?

I found a 93 Chevy Lumina APV (plastic van) that had the iron head 3.1 in it and got the complete engine for $400. Since the engine had only 30,000 miles on it, I figured I change out the waterpump, timing chain, and put new gaskets while swapping over the Fiero stuff and have a 3.1 pretty cheaply.
