T O P I C R E V I E WPallo88Hey allI'm in the process of looking for a series 3 supercharged engine as well as a flywheel. If anyone knows where I can get one please pm me. I'm located in canada so I'm trying to stay away from duties. ThanksPaulcam-a-loti bought mine at cookstown auto wreckers 5 minutes from my house for $1200.. 2007 3800 sc with around 30,000 kmfeel free to come by and check out my car if you want to take pics, measurements, etc. I simply kept an eye on www.car-parts.com and got lucky one friday afternoon. When the ad appeared, I couldn't believe there was one right around the corner. I flew to the yard 3 minutes before closing time to put a deposit down. Apparently another fiero owner was already on his way from London to buy it It is much better to wait for a clean, low mileage one than to buy a worn out high mileage motor and risk a rebuild. It costs more in the end... Good luck with the searchcam-a-lotI just saw a Series II SC motor you may want to check into at Cookstown Auto Wreckers. It was in a black GTPI don't know the mileage, but the engine looked complete and clean. The car is a 98 or 99FYI, I paid $1200 for a MINT series III from them last year with very low KM, so you should be able to get this Series II pretty cheap. I would definitely see about adding some oil and start the motor before buying it to make sure there are no knocks, smoke. etc.Pallo88The only problem I have with the series 2 is I got the computer and wiring harness made up for a series 3. Probably better if I wait for a good series 3 to come up. cam-a-lotSeries III motors in Fieros generally need to run with a Series II computer anyway so that you can avoid the drive-by-wire setup. The wiring harness is not a big deal- Dan can set you up locally. Mine looks great and works perfectly well.He has an extra PCM and harness ready to go for a Series II PCM. My car is away getting an F23 tranny installed right now, but when it comes back, feel free to pop by and check it out to see how the wiring was done. Have you considered an Ecotec?Pallo88Ya I got the harness from Dan. If it is comparable to the series 2 engine then I definetily want to check out the engine. Otherwise I think I'm going to keep my eyes open for the series 3.
