JUNE 2nd and 3rd (Saturday and Sunday) 2018

This is a shared event, organized by the Golden Gate Fieros chapter and the Hollister Airmen’s Association.

Mary Szpara had a hard time finding hotels with enough rooms in Paso Robles, because of the Firestone Walker 2018 Beer Fest during this same weekend.

She found a Motel 6 in Atascadero that has had rooms available at a reasonable rate for Saturday night, June 2.

Saturday, June 2, check in to your reserved room at or after 3pm

9400 El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA 93422

Outdoor swimming pool (unheated), free coffee and tea and vending machine in the lobby. Wi-Fi for an additional fee. There are restaurants nearby for a Saturday evening dinner gathering and Sunday morning breakfast get-together that I can arrange later, if there is interest.

If you are a Fly-In to Paso Robles on Saturday, these are your options for road vehicles:
  1. The FBO, ASI Jet, can make arrangements for car rentals with Enterprise Car Rental. They need the reservations by May 29; telephone 805-596-0212.
  2. John and Mary Szpara are renting a vehicle on Saturday. If you want to share this ride and the expense for it, please contact them and they can make arrangements for a larger vehicle and how to meet. Their telephone is 831-524-3324.
  3. There is no Taxi service, but Uber is available.

Sunday, June 3, at 9am
Gather in Motel 6 parking lot to caravan to the museum.

Open from 10am to 4pm. Our group rate is $10 per person. You can tour the Museum on your own but I am setting up a guided tour.

There is an F/A-18 cockpit flight simulator and I hope to have pricing and times for this available during our visit.

If you are a Fly-In, there are aircraft tie-downs available within walking distance of the Museum.

We will have a special area in the Museum parking lot to line up our Fieros for a public display.

We will have come and go privileges for the Museum and I will be making lunch arrangements for our group, right at the airport.

Sunday, June 3, at 12pm
Joe’s One-Niner Diner

4900 Wing Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446

Food is good and prices are reasonable. Fly-Ins can hitch a ride with us to get to the Diner and then back to the museum.

The Museum closes at 4pm.

You can rendezvous with us on Sunday, or arrive on Saturday and overnight at another location, and dine on your own.

Questions or other issues, please contact Mary Szpara at msbear@pacbell.net or 831-524-3324.

If you want to join us, please contact Mary Szpara or sign up here so that Mary can set up the appropriate reservations.
