Not sure why I dig sad songs (Page 1/4)

But I tend to. Not always but I do. Maybe there is just more sense of sincerity.

Imagine writing a song that is really personal and gut-wrenching. Then it gets SUPER-popular, and you sing it ALL THE TIME...

I wouldn't really like that. I wonder how musicians do it.

Songs about their lover or child dying, or a breakup, or something like that. Or even a happy song about a situation, and then the situation sours, and the song stays popular...

I dunno, I guess they can get a buzz when the audience is "into" a fun song they sing, but the "tear-jerkers"? I think I'd be pretty wiped out...

Probly why I couldn't do it. I try not to think about that part of it while watching a performance.

I guess it is also an outlet for them though.

Sometimes it can have an even more pronounced meaning, due to later circumstances many years later.

So you like tear in your beer songs?

I'm not much into sad songs. That said, there are a few that I really like. The one above (Black by Pearl Jam) is one of them. And this one too...
