Ugh - Scott Baio is a creep (Page 1/2)

If this is true, that he (25) did things to a 14 year old, it's pretty sick, and ILLEGAL (even if she "wanted" him to do it, or enjoyed it, or whatever)

She was still very much a kid at the time, despite how "mature" she might have acted...

This goes against what he claimed - that the kids came straight from their tutors, did their part, then were escorted off the set, it was impossible to be alone with them...

As toxic as the #meetoo movement is, The legitimate and verifiable claims, especially those involving children are a positive step in cleaning up the abuses still taking place in Hollywood today. Hopefully, these stories encourage parents to make better decisions in the way they allow their children to interact with people in the industry. There's obviously been a lack of supervision and the monsters take advantage.

Nobody has the right, or is it ever okay, to hurt a child. For this reason we all have safeguards when working with children, extra measures to insure their safety.

That being said, the first line of defense in any child's welfare & safety is the parent.

I would never blame the child, but I always think to myself, "Where was the parent when all this was going on?"

My feeling is the parents are so deluded by the prospect of money, fame, and holy recognition that they forgo all safeguards and even common sense.

Perhaps this is best explain by the movie, "Little Miss Sunshine".

If you want fame & fortune there is a price to be paid, and unfortunately some parents want this at any cost, even if the cost is their own child. Sadly, the children have no say.

Well said!

I would imagine we're going to hear more and more stories like this one. Especially with all the sitcoms that all had younger kids and teens during the 70's and 80's. Especially with the "Teen heart throb boys" fad from the 70's & 80's.

Even now there have been multiple stories of even "famous" youtuber's using their "fame" to manipulate young girls into doing sexual acts on the internet. Read some really sick stuff about a 24 year old popular youtube guy manipulating 13 & 14 year old girls to send him naked photos and videos to "prove their love and fandom". Luckily he got caught.

Just about every child star in Hollywood (and the music industry) goes through this. The Jackson Five are a perfect example. The Olsen twins, as well. You'll be hard-pressed to find a child star who is NOT emotionally scarred for life.

When you see some cute kid on a TV show or in a movie, keep in mind the **** they're going through to make that film. Then it doesn't seem so cute anymore...

Within the mythology of the Super Hero, there is a clear reason why they have a meek alter-ego, and must live a humble existence. They have too. It works to counterbalance them in life, and if not for this, they would become something horrible. That would be the self-absorbed, self-serving, celebrities that we see all the time. (Also, thing Kim in NK.)

Fame and fortune corrupt the ego. They have to work hard to maintain their humanity and their connection with others.

Ive always liked Nicole Eggert. She was cute on Charles in Charge, but got hot moving into her 20s. Not even that bad now. I dont believe her story though at all. Like mentioned, child actors that young didnt have any time to themselves...they had work, school and home filling every hour of the day. She still does TV movies, so I dont know if shes out for cash or not. Just think shes jumping in with the rest of the Hollywood ladies looking for some attention. If it was so tramatic ... and really happened... why not accuse them 40 years ago ? The American idea of innocent till proven guilty is long gone with the celebrity crowd. Even if its proven to be a lie, the damage to the accused is already done...and you cant take it back. 14 yo girls even nowadays seem to be repulsed by affection shown them by creepy old 20 year old guys so I dont see her doing anything with him...EVEN IF he was attracted to her.

Don’t think they are doing this for money. Hopefully the truth will eventually be known.
