86 SE V6 Auto - 92K miles (Page 1/1)

1986 Fiero SE V6 Automatic. 91,589 miles. Starts and idles fine, shifts fine, tracks straight, brakes fine, runs great under any acceleration from light to full-throttle, but misses badly when cruising at steady speed. As soon as you tip into the throttle, the miss stops. New fuel pump + sock + filter did not solve the problem.

Belonged to my father-in-law who bought it in the mid-90s (1996?). He passed away in May after a long bout with cancer and didn't drive it much for the last few years. Prior to that, it ran fine. My mother-in-law is selling.
Car is in Delaware, OH.
Asking $2500

More details:

Paint is dull on roof and deck lid, otherwise pretty nice.
Dew wipes are shot but glass seals OK (not a lot of wind noise).
Both exterior mirrors have been bent (probably against the garage-door frame) but are functional.
Headlight motors work.
Wipers work but seem to park wherever they want to. Took me three tries to get them to park properly.

Car was garaged most of its life.
Cradle is in good shape.
Battery tray has surface rust but is intact and solid (I installed a cheap Walmart battery last month but didn't think to take a pic).
Driver's door sags - could use hinge pin/bushing kit.

Interior very nice except for driver's seat and a missing horn button "ear".
All instrumentation works (see interior pics which were taken while car was idling).
Headliner is beautiful. F-I-L replaced it and did a nice job.
Seats are from an '87 Coupe.

Options include:
A/C (don't know if it works)
Power windows (work)
Power locks (work)
Performance Sound (radio works, didn't try the cassette, all speakers work, Performance Sound slider works but the subwoofer sounds kind of "muddy")
Cruise (works, but when it holds a steady speed, engine misses just as it does when you hold a steady speed with the accelerator pedal)
Power deck lid release (works)
No sunroof

Post or PM any questions and I'll answer as soon as I can.

Thanks for reading!

Price dropped to $2500 OBO (was $2800 OBO).

Also I flushed/filled the coolant last weekend and installed a new thermostat, thermostat cap, radiator cap, and overflow reservoir from the Fiero Store. I discovered a crack in the old tank.
