1988 Formula Fiero - 58k miles - all original (Page 1/2)

I have relisted my 1988 Fiero Formula on eBay. The first buyer bid and then after the close of the auction claimed they cancelled the bid...

This is a great car - all original and very well cared for over the years.

Wayne Carini (Chasing Classic Cars) had a twin to this with same or similar miles that he wanted $5995.00

I wonder what the chances are that this is the same car? Conn. is not too far from Mass.

Funny. I grew up in Wilbraham and am going there next weekend to visit family. If this is unsold I'll have to go check it out.

Edit; I found the CL add and guessing the reserve is too high for me. Already have 2.

That would be very cool if it was, but I haven't seen any historical registrations in the state of CT for the car.

Car didn't sell on eBay (reserve not met...). If you are in the area and want to check it out, just let me know

Since your reserve wasn’t met on EBay, it would be helpful if you listed your price.

Here is the listing on CL now. Not going to do eBay again. I may actually keep the car for now

It is interesting that most of us believe our cars to be worth 2x … and most buyer look and say 0.5x. if you had a good engine swap and more miles (few miles are worse than many in my experience) it might be worth it to some of us at that price.

Not a bad asking price, maybe just a little strong. Sadly, that's the reality of where the Fiero market is. To get your asking price, I would fix the headliner, charge the A/C, and get a body shop to fix the fascia cracking. Have a full, complete detail done. Do that, and if it were me, I would list at a minimum $7k.

But it looks to be a very clean, original, low mile Formula. The only thing I saw in the pic is that isn't original is it has had an alternator conversion.

Sorry, but that's a terrible idea for an original, low mile 5spd Formula. In my opinion that would only devalue the car. There are plenty of abandoned swaps, too far gone to restore to original cars out there still available for such projects. I have seen more poorly done swaps than I have good ones.
