Caliper ebrake lever (Page 1/1)

Finally got some good rear 88 calipers. Got them painted and partially installed. My new calipers came with a nut, flat washer, a red rubber washer and a black rubber washer. There's not enough room for the red washer. So I have a nut, flat washer, ebrake lever and the black rubber washer. Is this right or am I missing something ?

I don't think it right. Some Rear Brake images in 88 fsm have problems and hard to read.

from caliper, Small black "seal," arm, nut. That it.

black seal Should have 2 colors. 88 OEM does w/ copper side to caliper.
Might have a very thin plastic washer on 1 side of the seal. When true, is a "Bearing" to reduce torque in the seal. Seal there just keeps out water etc. Real Seal in hidden and easily wreck when screw is "suck in."

many companies add washer(s) etc just to take up space so P-screw won't get "suck in" during storage and shipping.
If you leave any spacers and crush that seal more then GM spec then likely will have problems.

Note the seal should have a very thin coat of Brake Grease before installing the arm.

get rid of the flat washer and the red rubber washer. all that should be there between the arm and caliper is the black rubber washer, and under that a smaller plastic washer
