After Market Dash Gauges - All Peg Out (Page 1/1)

1986 Fiero, 4-Speed Manual

The previous owner changed out the dash gauges to after market: Coolant Temperature, Oil Pressure, Voltage, Tach, and Speedometer. I have not had a chance to confirm the speedometer operation yet since I have not driven the car yet. When I turn the key to the 'On' position, the Temp, Voltage, and Oil Pressure gauges peg out. With the engine running, they stay in the pegged out position. The Tach does not operate when the engine is running. It just moves slightly then goes back to the rest position when I turn the key to the 'On' position and, again, does not function while the engine is running. Anyone know what my fix is?

Gauges, All have lights and all lights work. Turn signal lights work when signals are activated and the 4-way flashers work when activated.

Update:

I took the volt meter, fuel, water temperature gauges out and assessed them for correct connection to the harness. All of them had connection issues. The volt meter gauge now works. The fuel gauge now does not peg out. However, it read empty, so I put gas into the tank and checked the gauge with a pot meter. The gauge is receptive to changing current, thus allowing the needle to move freely from Empty to Full using the pot. Water temperature is still pegging out. I put gas in the tank and it is now full of fuel. I need to do more testing to see why the needle is now reading (below) empty (pegging past empty). Is there a a test for the water temperature gauge?
