Fuel Line Question (Page 1/1)
AndrewTHG FEB 20, 09:50 PM
Starting to put together my fuel lines and fittings on my swap. I want to replace the feed line coming out of the fuel filter with some braided hose and fittings @ the outlet of the filter. Does the filter require a 16mmx1.5 O-ring like Russell p/n 648060, or just normal 16mmx1.5 like Russell 670533?

And for the return line...looks to be 14mmx1.5 O-ring? For this one I am keeping the stock line and just feeding into it.

Also, anyone got any good ideas or pics on where they mount their remote FPR? I am thinking somewhere up high just because of keeping the return line, but also for adjusting during initial setup.

In terms of the relay, the stock relay locations between the air filter and the drivers seat is a great location.

In this case, FPR = fuel pressure regulator.

There is no relay associated with his question.

Ah, yeah ignore me then. I assumed this was a 3800 where you don't really need one unless you go returnless. What engine is it?

The firewall area behind the driver's seat seems relatively empty on a stock Fiero... hence I decided to install some of my water injection hardware there.
1. Filter
2. Pressure sensor
3. Pressure regulator
4. Solenoid valve

The outlet of the solenoid valve is placed so that a short loop of hose can connect the valve to the intake manifold. The hose follows a curve, so that when the engine rocks back and forth, no undue tension is applied to the hose.

I'm planning on routing the pressure and return lines on the "shelf" that appears at the bottom of the firewall.

I'm using an electric pressure sensor, but a mechanical gauge in that location should be readable as well.

The best solution for your case depends on where it would be convenient for the fuel to arrive to your engine.

If you gave more info (such as pics) regarding your swap, it would be easier to give intelligent suggestions.

For example, if using fuel injection, you should regulate the pressure as close as possible to the point of use, i.e. the injector(s).
If going carburetor, the fuel pressure isn't as important.

S3 3800 S/C.

Wow, yeah sorry about the lack of info here guys. It's all in my head, but clearly you can't access it up there...sometimes even I can't! Joe is right, it's Series 3 3800 S/C. I flipped the fuel rail around to point to the rear window. It is the Series 3 rail as well, so only 1 inlet on the rail, hence the need to plumb in a regulator. Any idea on the filter fittings required too? I am unsure of whether the outlet of the filter is O-ring or not, using the p/n's I mention above.

Just gonna bump this back up. Thanks for all the replies so far. Still looking for:
What fitting can be used directly @ fuel filter outlet side?
What fitting can be used on the line on fuel outlet (assuming I just keep the stock Fiero line in place and tap into it)
What fitting can be used on the return line? (likely keeping this line in place and just using -6AN to whatever to tap into it)

Thanks!
