Source for wiper switches (Page 1/2)

Hey guys. My wiper (aka multifunction) switch partially failed today. The headlight dimmer function isn't working anymore. I have high beams but no low beams. I get a phantom wipe almost everytime I touch the stalk.

I know the 88 switch is an upgrade for my 86, but I can't find either one anywhere. Everyplace I've looked at online or called shows none in stock or unavailable. I'm wondering what everyone else is doing to get around this problem.

Alright, I feel like an idiot. I didn't remember that the headlight dimming was controlled remotely and not by the multifunction switch.

For the phantom wipe you need to replace the switch inside the column:

Autozone Part # SW946.

From what I read earlier, the SW946 is a later GM switch that isn't 100% compatible with the Fiero's intermittent wipers. I'm all for using that switch if you or anyone else can say for sure that it works.

I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get the SW946. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. I'll know in a few days if it is fully compatible or not.

Let us know if it works out okay. Okay?

I too am anxious to find out if it works. My wipers only phantom wipe when it is cold outside. Any thoughts on that. BTW I live in south Florida

I picked the switch up after work and tested it when I got home. Every function worked perfectly. It also looks exactly like the stock switch in all the pictures I've seen. I can't say it's 100% compatible until I get it int he column! but at is point it looks like a suitable replacement.

That's the one I used and everything worked for me
