Finally (Page 1/1)

Last 6 to 7 years been kinda different..got forced out of a 23 year career I loved. Watched my family life just sorta go down drain needless to say i'm a single man now I guess.
My dad passed and that was super hard to watch..relocated to help my brother-then I had some health issues. Needless to say im 51 and not 25 anymore.
Oh my this is starting to sound like a depressing Taylor Swift song lol.
Like all of us i'm a gearhead have been since i was old enough to remember things. I have a nice 33 Ford Coupe. A 51 plymouth cranbrook 2 door sedan that was my dad's hot rod and a Fiero.
I had not had a fiero in years but I always wanted to v8 one and now that I know a little about LS engines I felt confident I could do up a nice car to keep in my lil arsenal.
I bought a nice 87 northstar swapped car. It was a Chris Moore car he built back in day but like anything that's over 30 years old it needed a lil. I sold it and bought an 88 notchback with less than 28000 miles but it had not been a cream puff garage kept car although it would have took very very little to make it seem that way...so..I sold it . I did not give up lol i searched my arse off.
I found a 87 notchback originally it would have been sold as a special value model other than ac and auto and rear window defrost its optionless. I have window sticker.
Originally gent wanted way more than I thought it was worth..we decided to meet in the middle..a deal was struck and today its parked on blankets in front of my lift in garage.
It has less than 8000 actual miles its black on dark gray interior and it's absolutely pristine. There is a lil of lettering gone off HL switch and one headlight is dragging.
It looks like brand new all over even the exhaust looks new. Even the speaker covers. You can even see the silver part of the rivet center that hold lower rocking moldings on. Its that clean.
Eureka.
I have my swap car. I wanted a clean start then if you upgrade stuff like brakes suspension and things and whatnot you are just ahead that way and I think in long run its way cheaper to do. Kinda nice not to have to replace EVERYTHING and hardly anything.
My ls4 is almost done I have a nice 4t65ehd with posi and this time next year...it will be v8 swapped and off to my painter for new ford tuxedo black metallic paint..or maybe I will just bolt on my quarter scoops and spoiler and only have those painted.. its that clean.
I needed a break and finally got one, so to whom is looking out for me Thanks I sure appreciate it !

Sorry about the tough streak!

Glad you caught a break, I hope everything goes smooth with the swap. Looking forward to the build thread.

I ran across some of the really rare 300M parts for the 4T65E on ebay, as to be expected, they were asking around 2500 for them, but had a few. Not sure if the 4T65eHD came with that as standard, or just came with the larger chain as standard.
