Ontario Fieros Zoom Meetup May 29 (Page 1/2)
yamaha94 MAY 26, 12:46 PM
The Ontario Fieros car community will be hosting our very first 2020 event with a Zoom virtual meet and greet.

We will be hosting an event this Friday May 29th starting at 8:30 PM (Eastern Time) - till whenever people want to leave (you can drop in anytime).

We have plenty of interest and should have a decent amount of people joining us. This is an invite only event so send me a DM and on May 29 I will send you the invite link if you are interested.

You can download zoom on your PC, Mac or personal smartphone device. This is of course entirely free. We have a great community of car owners who are awesome people!

Thanks

Marcus (Ontario Fieros Organizer and Planner)

Hey Marcus, nice to see this man! I have e-mailed Ian (Niagara Fieros) several times over the last few months with no reply. Is everything okay with him, do you know?

I have been trying to reach him as well, since I need some parts. Hopefully he is not chained to a post in the basement by his wife after she figured out how much money he has spent on buying Fieros!!! I may knock on his door, as I am in the area later this week. PM me if you need any parts and I will ask him if I can reach him. He has a great stash..

Ian is fine! He is just really busy. I speak with him weekly we usually chat for a while on the phone. If you want DM me your number and I can give you a call and fill you in.

Hey thanks Pete, I really just wanted to know if all was well as I hadn't heard from him in so long. Marcus, I may just do that!

⚠️
Zoom has big security problems. One is it forks many back-end functions to Chinese Servers.
Many places including Gov in several Countries Don't use or even Ban Zoom for security problems.
If you're dumb enough to provide personal data to create an account expect even worse problems then fools using Facebook.

Stop using Zoom! Privacy and security issues with Zoom video conferencing app - YouTube
Zoom Is Getting BANNED - YouTube
China and Taiwan aren't great friends. Zoom sends chats through China. So Taiwan has banned Zoom - The ®
Using Zoom while working from home? Here are the privacy risks to watch out for - Cnet

While Zoom claims will add "end-to-end encryption" don't trust them.

Find something else.
Maybe Open Source Jitsi.

Interesting ogre. What i find interesting is my organization which I work for is government run and uses it for everything. Google meet offers some alternatives as well thanks for your info.

Sadly I only just saw this now. I'll look out for the next one in June and try to join in (assuming I get invited... )
