... at times it can be similar to that of a VW owner.

Any vehicle 30 years or older will always need work. Hoses, suspension bushings, bearings, belts, bearings, shocks/struts, engines and accessories were not designed to last forever. You cannot be disappointed if a Fiero needs work.

One of the sections needs to be “Loving the Fiero.”
Spadesluck JUN 23, 11:54 AM
Maybe change the hating to love/hating the fiero....

Pretty much sums it up as mentioned even if you bought a car with zero miles that is 30 years old there are a lot of parts to replace with rubber that perish.
fierofrenzy JUN 30, 06:45 AM
Great thing is that all those parts are out there for the grabbing. Fiero Store, ebay, PFF mall, ( to name a few ) and everybody parting out cars give us excellent access to locate what we need. I appreciate that very much.

What he said!

I have a real love of '80s cars, and the Fiero is one of the easiest and cheapest to keep up. Although some stuff you really want aren't available (GT sails & tails come to mind...) everything else is generally out there. I've had zero problems keeping my '87 going strong the last four or five years and making quite a few fun upgrades as well. Most of my cars I have to let slowly decay while praying to the junkyard gods, or turn to a single vendor for any upgrades. It can be rough!

The trick is to always own at least one car thats older and you will probably never drive because it's too far gone. It always makes the fiero look like an easy fix!

People that drive modified/engine swap Fiero's always seem to be working on them as well. Whether its a brake , exhaust, cooling system, interior upgrade or a maintenance item like dew wipes, quarter windows, shocks/struts, brake pads, side windows or headlight motors he work is almost constant. I sympathize with those owners that don't have a shop with a lift available.
